Als het niet lukt om de gehele busreis met ons mee te reizen, kan je kiezen voor de ‘backpack’ reis. Je kiest dan voor de korte reis: je neemt alléén deel aan de Wereldjongerendagen in Lissabon.
Op de website van Huis voor de Pelgrim kan je kiezen tussen twee reispakketten:
1. mét accommodatie
of
2. zónder accommodatie
Je reist op eigen gelegenheid naar en van Lissabon. Je verblijft met de rest van de Nederlandse groep backpackers in een aangewezen accommodatie. De Wereldjongerendagen vinden plaats van 1 t/m 6 augustus. Net zoals alle andere pelgrims ontvang ook jij een OV kaart en een pelgrimstas. Je kan deelnemen aan het Nederlandse catechese programma. De locatie hiervan wordt vlak voor aanvang bekend en hopelijk verblijven jullie in de buurt. Ook voor jullie is er een spreekuur bij het medisch team, maar je wordt niet in een deelgroepje begeleidt door een deelgroep leider. Je verkent op eigen gelegenheid de stad Lissabon.
Dus krijg je geen drie weken vrij van werk; heb je al andere vakantieplannen of welke reden dan ook: ga mee met de backpack reis en geniet alsnog van de Wereldjongerendagen in Lissabon!
Ook voor deze reis geldt 31 mei als uiterlijke inschrijfdatum.
English: Travel option ‘Backpacking’
If it is not possible to travel with us for the entire bus trip, you can choose for the ‘backpack’ trip. This is the short trip: you only participate in the World Youth Days in Lisbon from the 1st till the 6th of August.
On the website of Huis voor de Pelgrim you can choose between two options:

You will travel to and from Lisbon on your own. You will stay with the rest of the Dutch group of backpackers in a designated accommodation. Just like all other pilgrims, you will receive a public transport card and a pilgrim’s bag. You can participate in the Dutch catechesis program (translation will be available). The location of this will be announced just before the start and hopefully you will stay nearby. There will be a consultation hour with the medical team for you, but you will not be guided in a subgroup by a subgroup leader. You’ll explore the city of Lisbon on your own.
So if you don’t get three weeks off from work; or you already have other holiday plans or for whatever reason: join the backpacking trip and still enjoy the World Youth Days in Lisbon!
May 31 is the final date for registration of this trip.
